Kara Fitzjarrald, President
Kara Fitzjarrald became President of Kemper Construction Inc. in 2015, when she purchased the company from its founders—her parents, Bill and Judy Kemper. As a second-generation leader, Kara is proud to carry forward the company’s family-owned legacy while guiding Kemper Construction’s continued growth.
Kara earned her Bachelor’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering with a focus in Construction Management from the University of Illinois and later completed her Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Illinois in 2021.
Kara lives in Canton, Illinois with her husband, Dan, and their children, Kate and Jack. She is actively engaged in the community, serving as Property Chair for the First Christian Church and as a mentor for the Spoon River CEO Program, where she supports and encourages the next generation of local leaders.
Dan Fitzjarrald, Vice-President
Dan Fitzjarrald has served as Vice President of Kemper Construction Inc. since 2015, when he joined the leadership team following the company’s transition to second-generation ownership. In his role, Dan supports day-to-day operations and project execution, helping ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Dan earned his Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from Illinois State University in 2007. His background and hands-on experience provide a strong foundation in construction operations, scheduling, and coordination across a wide range of commercial projects.
Dan lives in Canton with his wife, Kara, and their children, Kate and Jack. He is actively involved in local leadership, serving on the Canton Family YMCA Executive Board and chairing its Property Committee, reflecting his commitment to community service, stewardship, and long-term investment in the region.
